When the cat’s away…
Non-union camera crew, fresh out of the tub hair and make-up, and a little true confession.

I love my husband with all of my heart. I do.
But when he’s away for a few days, it’s my permission slip to rule the roost on my own “you’re not the boss of me” terms.
Cereal for dinner, Sex in the City re-runs on TBS, and hazelnut creme flavored coffee for the morning (my husband claims flavored coffee makes him grow breast buds).
I pretend that it’s a hardship so he doesn’t feel bad, but I’m beginning to think his little trips are helping our marriage in a really ack-bassward kind of way.
Don’t get me wrong…I don’t want a guy who’s gone all the time.
But every so often having the big cat away gives this mouse some guilty-pleasure filled time to play.
You have really let the cat out of the bag! Luckily your blog is probably the last place my traveling hubbie is looking on his laptop! Remember they have their secret habits, too! Love the “don’t touch me pjs.” I have my own version.
I’m so right there with you. I put the kids to bed and I go up and spread out over the whole bed – magazines, books, computer, ipod, trashy tv. Sometimes a glass of wine. Nailpolish, bath, whatever and it’s all served up guilt-free. PS Just finished The Help last month for my book club and enjoyed it.

I might have 2 or 3 of those! I love love love when dh travels – it truly is nice to just be alone w/ your thoughts. I’m all about the gossip mags…catch up on sending some girlfriends some cards by good old snail mail or just dive into some wine and bad tv. Although a few saturdays I had the whole day to myself and not a kid was in site either…and I cleaned for the first few hours…organized…LOVED THAT! Then I turned on a great chick flick and took a nap! HEAVEN ON EARTH!
I love my husband dearly, and also love when goes away on a short business trip. BTW, LOVE the “Don’t touch me jammies” & your bangs.
