What to do with your sicky-poo.
My oldest is home today and has set up shop on the living room couch, all white-masked and feverish. ( Okay, the mask might be a bit extreme but I’m taking no chances with the rest of us.)
So it seems like the perfect day to share how I try and entertain the troops in my make-shift MASH unit during cold and flu season.
Now that you’ve seen one of my sick day tricks….show us one of yours. Like I always say…it takes a village (and a lot of lattes), to raise a mom.

Just saw you on Momversations, glad I did now I can catch myself up on your blog!
Hey there Vanessa!
Welcome….look around, so glad to have ya:)
Hsyden started a journal when he was out of school with the flu for a week. It was his idea but now he writes in it regularly. He first drew a calendar and wrote each day he was “sik” and then made a list of things to eat when you are “sik” – “soop and Gatorade”. Little ones can use it to draw pictures of things. We also spent time perusing all the toy catalogs making “Crismis” lists. And I can’t emphasize enough – stock up on your fever reducing meds and Gatorade in advance. Hope Max is feeling better. I love WikiStix, Gogos and Archie comics too!
SUPER DUPER ideas Ann!
The toy catalogs are perfect! And anytime your kind is writing in a journal is a plus:)
Thanks for the tips!!
Max is seemingly on the mend…fever going down, down, down.
Great idea, Meredith! Since my kids are so rarely sick, I haven’t needed anything clever. I think I’ll just steal your idea “just in case” since the pig flu has me a little worried this year.
Hey Meredith! I love your sick day sack idea! I’ve been wanting to check out your blog since we talked at Mark’s wedding. Thanks for the tip. I’ll be back!
