Seriously, if you have not popped into a Paper Source store, or given them a visit on-line, it’s so worth the trip. I always find the most unique gifts for other people and myself. I’ve used their goods several times in my monthly style column”Fab. Mama” in Chicago Parent magazine, and they never disappoint.

I tried to keep this vlog under 3 minutes but when you’re trying to explain a game, well, it gets a wee bit long winded. Hopefully this will help us all disconnect our kids a little from their electronic babysitters in the backseat long enough to actually converse with one another about something more than what level they’re on.

(Okay folks…just realized that the sound-to-video ratio starts to go all hay wire in this here vlog. I’m finding it hilarious and it feels like I belong in one of those Japanese Godzilla movies. It’s the first time I have tried the whole web cam to youtube thing. Sorry it’s so whack. I vow to try and remedy if possible!)

I know Valentine’s day is over and I truly hope y’all got lucky and had a great time celebrating the one you love.

But what about the other 364 days ya got staring at you from that over-stocked family calendar? As for moi, I’m on a personal quest to be more silly and playful and spontaneous with my baby daddy this year.

I think this lovely chocolate-covered libation is a super-de-duper way to liven up a typical Friday night of pizza, movies and kid sleep overs. I say get yourself one of these babies and have a little “sleep-over” of your own. Boom.

Last summer I told you about a cool app. for your phone called Tales2Go.

It’s a storytelling application that features thousands of the most beloved children’s stories for your kids to enjoy “on the go”.

Well, right now the Tales2Go folks are having a super-duper promotion for teachers. A FREE subscription for their classrooms. As a former classroom teacher, I remember how much my students loved the listening library. In those days it was full of giant headphones and a central box into which all the kids “plugged in”… with cords a plenty running to the tape recorder. It was 1812.

Times have changed….a lot. Now teachers can use their computers, smart phones, or ipads for their student’s story- listening pleasure.
